Filling in the gap

Family picture

I started Fit Boutique in Nov 2014 as a hobby bringing together all my passions for fitness, fashion, design, eCommerce and customer experience. At this time I had just started a family, I had a 1-year-old daughter called Eden and had just started working as a freelance designer after leaving my job as design director at a web design agency. I was focussing on my next challenge, which was to compete in my first Ms Bikini fitness show (bodybuilding), which led to further shows and fitness modelling, so my life at this time was all about looking after my child and exercising/dieting/competing and starting Fit Boutique.

First Fit Boutique website - Feb 2015

I had my second child (Milan) in the summer of 2016, and with two small children, a full-time role in eCommerce/marketing for a well known retail company, keeping fit and healthy, moving house, alongside other usual life ‘stuff’ blogging and social media for Fit Boutique took a back seat. Recently I’ve been reading through my blog posts from this time and I’ve found it interesting how much has changed for me since starting Fit Boutique nearly 7 years ago. But even though life has changed, my values, passions and fundamental reasons for starting Fit Boutique remain the same.

The last 18 months has affected us all in different ways, like many of you, my life changed. Due to isolation I was working, schooling, shopping and exercising at home, this opportunity introduced me to a much better work-life balance and re-sparked the passion I’ve always had for Fit Boutique…

On a swing with my girls

So I’ve taken the leap! I’ve now left my full-time senior role in the corporate world to chase my dream. I want to show my girls that through hard work, passion and dedication you can do whatever you want to do and be happy. My mission is to make Fit Boutique so much more than just my hobby, it has always been to inspire and support the Fit Boutique community to achieve their goals and feel confident and comfortable while doing it, so let's do it together!
